If you follow any wellness or holistic beauty Instagrammers, then surely you’ve seen the photos with the curious yet cute clear eye gel packs under their eyes…
If not, let us introduce you to Honest Hazel Eye Gels, an instantly refreshing under-eye treatment for tired eyes. These quick treatment eye gels are simple yet significant with all natural ingredients, and they multi-task to reduce puffiness, brighten dark circles, firm fine lines and hydrate the delicate under-eye skin.
We had to know more about the Raleigh, North Carolina based company, their eye gels and the concept behind them, so we went straight to the source, creator and founder of Honest Hazel, Catherine Scott. We asked her what makes these eye gels so effective, why she believes cleaner beauty products must be a priority for every woman and the beauty products (other than Honest Hazel Eye Gels, of course) that she can’t live without when she travels…
YOUR SOOTHING EYE GELS ARE SERIOUSLY ALL OVER SOCIAL MEDIA. TELL US ABOUT HOW YOU CAME UP WITH THE CONCEPT FOR THEM…DID IT ARISE FROM A NEED IN YOUR OWN PERSONAL LIFE, LIKE ALL GREAT PRODUCTS DO?
It really started out of necessity, not just from a product side, but for me. At the time I wanted to launch my own company after working (and building up) so many other start-ups over the last few years. I thought hard about what the product would be, what I couldn’t live without. That brought me to a product I had discovered when I was overseas on a buying trip, with a horrible migraine. I had searched high and low, and then decided to manufacture my own version of the game-changing product!
TELL US ABOUT THE EYE GELS…WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO USE THEM, WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
For extra goodness, pop them in the fridge for 20+ minutes prior to use to “chill” them, then apply. Wear them for 30+ minutes to depuff, hydrate and brighten dark circles.
WE ARE ALL FINALLY CATCHING UP ON THE IMPORTANCE OF CLEANER BEAUTY PRODUCTS. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON WHY WE SHOULD BE JUST AS CAREFUL ABOUT THE INGREDIENTS WE PUT ON OUR SKIN, AS THE INGREDIENTS WE PUT IN OUR BODIES?
It all goes hand in hand. You can’t eat organic and then drink cheap box wine…you’ve got to treat your body good! We are really lucky to have the uprising of specialty clean living (and beauty) stores popping up across the country.
TELL US MORE ABOUT ONE OF THE STAR INGREDIENTS IN THE EYE GELS, HYALURONIC ACID…
The Hyaluronic Acid is key to the hydration. It helps retain over 1,000 times its weight in water within the cells of skin, making it a hydration powerhouse. Since dryness can really age us and our skin, hydration is KEY.
WHAT OTHER TIPS DO YOU HAVE AROUND NATURAL BEAUTY THAT YOU COULD SHARE…MAYBE A FEW THAT YOU INCORPORATE INTO YOUR OWN LIFE?
Self care! Not just in beauty but in other areas like body love and mental health. Whatever it may be, find the time, even in the small pockets of a hectic life. This means challenging myself to take 30 minutes a day, tracking it and celebrating when I’ve achieved my 30 day goal. I love Rachel Hollis, author of the book Girl Wash Your Face. Every female should read this book and listen to her podcast!
TALK A BIT ABOUT YOUR MISSION FOR THE COMPANY…WHAT’S A PHILOSOPHY THAT YOU LIVE BY AND ALSO BRING INTO YOUR BUSINESS?
I’ve worked for companies that were not good to people. So when I started Honest Hazel, I wanted to set my own standards. I wanted to make an impact, whether it was to brighten someone’s dark circles or to brighten their day. We can all get carried away, multi tasking ourselves to death, and we want to be the “good” in someone’s life.
WHAT ARE THREE BEAUTY PRODUCTS (OTHER THAN THE HONEST HAZEL EYE GELS, OF COURSE!) THAT YOU COULDN’T GO THROUGH A DAY WITHOUT?
I love trying new products! But I have a few favorites that I can’t live without, especially when I’m traveling. Of course that includes the Honest Hazel Eye Gels, and I love the Clary Collection Balm. I call it the bomb balm! It’s so great for lips. I also really like Beautycounter products, especially their eye shadows. And I’m currently loving Monat’s “The Champ” dry shampoo.
