Let’s switch gears for a moment and talk beauty, shall we?
Here on TSWB you’ll find mostly healthy recipes and lifestyle tips, but today I’m sharing a few of the beauty products I’m obsessing over at the moment.
Disclaimer #1: I’m not a beauty professional! I love hearing about what works well for other women and I love to share what’s working well for me. I tend to try new products based on feedback from other women, which is how I found out about most of these products. These are the products I’m loving most in the beauty department right now, and my intention is to come back and update this list frequently so it stays current.
Disclaimer #2: I try to use clean beauty products as much as possible and it’s something that I’m still working on, but for now I’m not completely switched over to all clean beauty. Just so you know, as you move through this list. Sometimes effectiveness just takes precedent, kay?
Disclaimer #3: We are all different — different ages, skin issues, climates, lifestyles, etc — so please remember that just because certain products do well for my skin or lifestyle, doesn’t mean they will be best for everyone else. I am 39 years old and my skin is a bit combination (more dry around cheeks, oiler through t-zone) but can be very sensitive and easily breaks out. I don’t tend to wear a lot of makeup most days and I love the look of light, dewy, glowy, hydrated skin. Anti-aging and maintaining smooth and glowy skin are my primary concerns.

SKINCARE
Charlotte Tilbury Multi-Miracle Glow | This is a brand new find and I’m obsessed with it. This product can be used for a multitude of uses. Most days I use it as my morning cleanser, and then one day a week (usually Sunday) I’ll put it on and leave it on for a few hours (or even most of the day) and go makeup free all day. A little goes a very long way with this cleanser and note that you put it on dry skin.
Caudalie Deep Cleansing Exfoliator | I exfoliate my skin every day and I recently discovered this gentle exfoliator. It leaves my skin smooth and radiant.
Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Cream | This moisturizer is on the pricier side but again, a little goes a long way. I think it’s worth its price though as it leaves my skin so beautifully hydrated. I use it at night.
Smoke Artisan Perfume Co. Full Moon Rose Oil | I used to visit the most amazing esthetician (oh hey, Renae!) who always did about 10-15 minutes of straight massage on my face during a facial. I could always tell such a difference in the color of my skin and the way it glowed after a session with her. I haven’t found anther esthetician in our new city who does this much facial massage (please email me or leave a comment below if you know someone!), so recently I’ve been self-massaging my face two or three nights a week for 5-10 minutes. I love using this rose oil for facial massage. It’s made in New Orleans with organically and locally grown rose petals along with a few other highest quality oils. It smells heavenly and rose is a heart chakra oil <3
Erborian Glow Créme | Another brand new find. I love this primer for creating pearly, glowing skin and a blurring effect for skin imperfections. I use it even on days I don’t wear foundation and find that it’s the perfect light coverage for those days.
Makeup Eraser Makeup Remover Cloth | I use this super soft, reusable cloth every night to remove eyemakeup and it works like a dream. All you need is a little warm water to wet it, and it removes all makeup like a dream. Each cloth lasts up to three to five years (!!!).
MAKEUP
Ellis Faas Skin Veil Foundation | This mineral foundation goes on lightly while diffusing light onto the skin, and it doesn’t feel heavy on my skin which I love. Most days I’ll just apply it to the specific areas I need it most, or if I want more coverage it’s easy to build. It makes my skin look gloriously bright.
Ellis Faas Concealer Pen | This is my g0-to daily concealer for brightening and covering under eyes, for covering redness around the corners of the nose and for covering blemishes. It provides great coverage but still feels light on my skin and never cakey, and I love the application from the pen.
Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealor | This is the heavier concealor I reach for when I’ve got a blemish or redness that the Ellis Faas concealer pen won’t cover. I definitely don’t use this one on a daily basis, but it’s great to have on-hand when you need it. It’s also long-lasting and sweat/water proof. I do find it to be quite cakey and thick under the eye so I avoid using it there.
Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil | I fill in my eyebrows every day, even when I don’t wear much makeup. This pencil is the easiest one I’ve found to use and get that naturally full brow look without being a professional makeup artist.
Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner | I love a good felt pen eyeliner and this is the one I’ve been using for years. It’s super easy to use and it stays in place, no smudging or running. You can apply it thin or make a thicker line.
Buxom Big Tease Plumping Mascara | For the longest time, I couldn’t find a mascara that really plumped and lengthened my lashes, that would stay in place and not smudge under my eyes throughout the day. Until I found this. It’s my ride or die mascara.
